Yes, my last post was in January. I started new projects at work and got my time sucked out. But I was going through the E3 event videos and I decided to write about it. So this is Part 01.

Sony goes Motion and takes it personal on Nintendo.

I know this isn't new. The PS Move controller looks a lot like the Wii, but something caught my attention when I watched the new Zelda for Wii and the Sorcery for PS3 in action. Miyamoto, said "just imagine you are holding a sword and shield... all the actions will be done doing realistic motions", but he had a hard time showing this. He swings but Link doesn't do the same movements. Watch the Video.

On the other hand. Sony shows the game Sorcery, and it does a pretty good job with the Move Controller.

Yes, Nintendo invented this type of gameplay, but Sony perfected it. No, I'm not trashing the Wii, but the videos speak for themselves...

BTW, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 The Game (try saying that 5 times fast) will be a shooter... Think the first Medal Of Honor, but with Wizards shooting shiny spells... Sucks to be you!

CES 2010 : Lenovo Hybrid

Tablets are the new computers. Because of interaction, ease of use and other features. I personally am waiting to see the Apple Tablet but in the mean time, Lenovo showed at this years CES (Consumer Electronic Show) a Hybrid, Laptop that turns into a Tablet, and its AWESOME! You just take the monitor off and it automatically turns into a Tablet Pc!

SunCat Solar Batteries: Well That Was Obvious

Rechargeable batteries can be a bit of a pain—you have to carry around an adapter, find an outlet, and even bend over to plug in the adapter. It's hell, really.

The SunCat batteries solve all of these issues while giving the environment a firm pat on the butt by wrapping standard NiMH rechargeable batteries (1.8V) in photo voltaic cells (1.5V). Seen in prototype form here, each battery becomes its own solar trickle charger, constantly topping off its power reserves without ever over charging.

Now if only Duracell, Energizer or some other major manufacturer could swoop in and mass product this idea...

1. iMacs get next-gen processors
The most important upgrade to iMacs is that they'll now support Intel Core i5 and i7 processors for prices starting at $1500. You can buy a Core 2 Duo for less, but...I mean...really?

2. The iMac is a cheap monitor, by Apple's standards
A 30-inch Cinema Display will still run you $1,800 while a new 27-inch iMac starts at $1700. Oh, and now the iMac can work simply as a monitor through its mini DisplayPort, too.

3. Apple sees the Mac Mini as a server, not an HTPC, Home Theather PC
Apple may have given the Mac Mini a slight spec boost and the option to load Leopard Server, but it still missing the critical feature it needs to be a competitive home theater PC—the HDMI port.

Apple to announce new products Today

(YESTERDAYS post & UPDATE)

Dan Lyons vague tease of new Apple gear coming out tomorrow with a pretty specific list of things he's apparently heard, including new iMacs and plastic MacBooks, Mac Minis including one that runs OS X Server, a new multitouch "Magic Mouse" (ha!) and some sort of multitouch desktop trackpad accessory.

Lets see what happens tomorrow morning -- at this point we're half expecting a tablet, a pony, and some sort of multitouch waffle maker as well.

UPDATE! today 10/20/2009

Today could be a big Apple day. John Gruber and Dan Lyons (look them up) both think that we might just see a ton of new Apple products today. Exciting, I know. These new models would include new iMacs, plastic Macbooks, Mac Minis, 2nd generation Mighty Mouse that may be called the "Magic Mouse" like that one in the movie with a blue hat and red robes and a bunch of brooms... and some sort of multitouch desktop gadget thingy. All that is suppose to come out today even though Apple doesn’t have a press conference scheduled and Steve Jobs knows I don’t really want to work that hard today. Yeah, we talk.

Maybe Apple is going to start simply announcing its products the good ol’ fashion way with a press release and a couple of images. I would vote for that.

As for the new products, anything is possible with Apple and we have hear a lot of rumors of new Macbooks, iMacs, and even for a new mouse. There’s a good chance we’ll see an updated product line soon enough, but I don’t think that day is today, they DO this kinds of things, remember? But I could be wrong. I’m only on my first can of coffee so far today.

New iMac and New MacBook!! (quick reviews)

THE IMAC
Built with the new unibody technique from it's little brothers, comes in two sizes, a 21.5 inch and a 27 inch screen. It has the same edge-to-edge screen as the MacBook Pro , a Core 2 Duo and (optional) new Core i5/i7 quad-core.

The screen is LED backlit like the Cinema Displays. The iMac has a new trick, its DisplayPort can turn it into a second screen, receiving video (but not audio) input from DVD players or a MacBook. It should be fine for watching Blu-rays on, via the port, via a separate player.

The larger chassis allowed Apple to do two main things over the previous generation's: Fit in 4 RAM modules, for a total of 16GB max memory, and increase the quality of sound using the both acoustics of the case and better components. There's a new SD card slot under the optical.

THE MACBOOK
The multitouch trackpad and LED backlighting feel like necessary catch-up—they're less like "Pro" add-ons than they are standard technologies, so it's good to see them included. Likewise, the spec upgrades basically are a little jolt: the processor jumps from 2.13GHz to 2.26 GHz, the HDD from 160GB to 250GB, while the 2GB of DDR2 RAM has been swapped for the same amount of slightly faster DDR3 memory. And in the same divisive trade the 13" MacBook Pro made a few months back, the old removable battery has been switched out for the non-replaceable 7-hour unit.

This is what people with first hand experience noticed:

• The glass trackpad is the same size as the Pro's, and noticeably bigger than last gen's.
• It feels bigger—like, fatter—than the last gen white Macbook
• Small visual cues in the cover have been tweaked to look more like the Pro line
• The uniformly white bezel makes the body look chunky
• Now that the base is just a flat piece of rubber, airflow seems like it could be an issue. [Ed. note: I mean, is rubber a good heatsink? It's more of an insulator, right?]
• The eight screws in the base complement the finish on the aluminum MacBook well; here, they stand out, and look kinda ugly
• The edges are curvier, but again, the whole think feels chubbier.

Windows 7 vs Snow Leopard, which is faster?

Before you begin reading I want to say this review was not done by me. I could have but I am really lazy so I borrowed the results from Nick Saint over at Silicon Alley.

Although I didn't do the tests I have Windows 7 64-bit installed on my Mac, and I have used it. And I have only to say one thing to Microsoft... Thank you... yes, that is correct, Thank You. For realizing how much Vista sucked and deciding to fix it...

But that's not here nor there, back to the speed review. The guys over at SAI installed both systems on a a MacBook Pro using Boot Camp 3.0, and ran the tests. Here are Nick's results:

Snow Leopard took much less time to start up and shut down.
Snow Leopard was slightly better at converting songs into MP3s in iTunes.
In a multi-tasking test, Windows was almost twice as slow completing two tasks at once. However, both involved Apple programs (iTunes and QuickTime), skewing the test somewhat.
Windows 7 performed better in all graphics and gaming tests.

So? If you plan on using your computer for videogames, buy a great laptop with Windows 7. If you plan on doing everything else a Mac user does better than a PC... sorry, I got carried away... stick to Snow Leopard.

Nook It and some competition.

An electronic reader called the Nook is set to be introduced by Barnes & Noble today, aiming to hurt Amazon's Kindle.

The Nook will costs $260, but includes an ability to lend digital books to friends and also to use wi-fi to download books. That puts it in a different league from the Kindle. I has a 6 inch monochrome E-Ink panel as a main display and a multitouch color LCD below it.

Barnes & Noble already sells digital books that can be read by notebooks, iPhones and Blackberry's, but the Nook will also be able to read a large number of Google books too.

Besides the tech improvements that Nook will supposedly bring over the Kindle, Barnes & Noble has another trick up its sleeve : its physical stores, where customers will probably be able to try out the Nook before purchasing.
The device will be sold in Barnes & Nobles stores and will also be available from nook.com.

The official Nook event starts today at 4 PM ET.

YESTERDAY. Spring Design announced Google Android E-Reader. Known as Alex it features a dual screen, removable SD card and Wi-Fi\3G network capabilities.
Why a dual screen? Spring Design CEO Dr. Priscilla Lu says that it allows users to read text easily on the 6 inch monochome screen, while allowing the user to browse multimedia information on the lower 3.5 inch LCD screen.
Spring Design, which is currently in discussion with various content providers, is expected to begin shipping the Alex device to selected strategic partners by the end of 2009.

And another company is doing a similar thing. Plastic Logic is launching an e-reader in January, promising a feather light device with the largest screen in the industry, a 8.5 x 11 inch screen. Aimed for the business user, it's to display newspapers, books ans supporting documents like PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days Review

This is my first videogame review, please comment if you like it or not.

Kingdom Hearts (KH) series has a phenomenal success on the PS2, but when it comes to otter platforms, well.. it hasn't that good… Square Enix and Disney are giving it another try with 358/2, pronounced three, five, eight days over two… why not call it Roxas or KH 1.5…
Here's why, but its a SPOILER!!! So if you want to read it, rollover the box below and select between the lines to see the text. If you don't want to read it, just go to the paragraph below without passing over the white box with the mouse.

The title means 358 days through the eyes of two. Now this game takes place during the time that Sora was asleep. In the beginning of KH2 you play through 1 week as Roxas. Since a normal year is 365 days when you subtract the week in the beginning of KH2 you get 358. Now the /2 part is what baffled many. It means that these 358 days are being experienced by Roxas and Xion. Though on the 357th day Xion dies. On the 359th day Roxas has quit the Org. XIII and is beginning the week before KH2.
Because both Roxas and Xion were unconscious at some point during the game, the 358 days were not fully experienced by either of them, making the days almost split between the two of them.

On with the REVIEW...

This is a interquel to the series. It's based on the story that happens between KH and KH2, and is parallel in story with Chain of Memories. This game is meant for KH fans, so if you haven't played the previous game, you'll be in WTF!? mode.

For a DS game the the graphics are impressive. It's a complete 3D game and the characters look pretty good. But lets remember that the DS is still limited when it comes to full 3D, so putting a PS2 experience in this hardware leaves it a bit rough around the edges. It looks great but I think the sprites of The World Ends With You (another Square Enix DS game) would have been great. It has some CG cutscenes but they look as if not compressed correctly.

The environments are the same as of the previous games, just made for the DS version, but still the same. Even the music is the same. I'm a big fan of the series but even I'm getting tired of them. A little of improvement would have been appreciated. If your looking for a brand new experience, this is not it.

The combat system is exactly as the other KH games, but a but closer to the original game, a little paced down. Limit Brakes have been added and the game is very challenging which is a plus. But its still has a "been there, done that" feeling.

The greatest addition to the series is the multiplayer game mode, where up to 4 player con join and play as any character of Organization XIII. It adds a lot to the game. Although the multiplayer is local, not online, it still gives it a lot boost. Yes I found some people who have the game and played a bit of multiplayer… shut up...

FINAL NOTE.
As a big Kingdom Hearts fan I highly recommend it to other fans who loved the other games in the series. But the repetition does get annoying, I hope they change this for future games, mainly the upcoming Birth by Sleep.

Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Slim

I am a Final Fantasy whore... yes, geeky, but true... I can say I have played almost every FF game ever made, all the other versions and spin offs like Dissidia, Kingdom Hearts and I'm currently playing the FF ones I haven't yet experienced.
I even played the Online FF XII which I discovered, I'm was not very good at because I didn't spend enough hours playing it... NO! IT'S TRUE! I would love to do that, but work and other stuff just don't leave enough free time.

Aaaanyway, back to the news...
Seems we might just see those rumored 250GB PS3 bundles in October after all. Although this official limited-edition PS3 is something I would love to have, being the FF XIII custom print awesome, but something stops me from doing it... wait... Oh yeah! It's Pink...
Come On You Guys! (sony and square enix) Can't you make a cooler more masculine color!?

Apple Revolution!!

not exactly but they do have new stuff, and here's a very quick review... let's start small and go up to how you like it, big and touchy... aaaanyway...

iPOD SHUFFLE

same as the recent model but now in colors! oh, and price cut also, now the 2Gb is only $59 and the 4Gb can be found at $79, USD of course. Or a polished silver 4GB for $99.
Damn! I remember my first Mp3 Player, a Diamond Rio PMP300, it was the best! At the time it was priced at $349 Canadian Dollars, connection was through the parallel port, and had an internal memory of 256MBs!! Take that iPod!! oh, wait... AH! if you where to fill up the Rio with today's Shuffle, you'd fit about 15 iPod Shuffles in its case!

iPOD NANO

No change in disk space, which means you can only put the same amount of music as the older version, we still have the large range of colors, and slick design, but now it has something that no other iPod has... it now captures video. Yes, there are a lot more feature but none as important to this generation as this. You'll immediately think "The iPhone 3GS has video capabilities!", to what I answer, "Yes, you are totally right! I am so stupid!!", but this is sarcasm because I mentioned iPOD YOU ILLITERATE SON OF A B!%@#!!
Ok, sorry. Now some people and blogger said that "Apple has a product they can use to compete with the Flip video recorder" But lets be honest! IT'S A VGA CAMERA! and Flip even has an HD version of its products! Competition? Really?
p.s. I Love You... in other related news, the iPod Nano is down sized in price also, 8GB for $149 and 16Gb for $179.

iPOD CLASSIC

The only good news here is that the 80Gb has been discontinued and now we have the 160GB at the price of the 80GB for $249. Bastards, I paid that amount for half the fucking space. And we still have the only two colors, white/pearly and black matte.

iPOD TOUCH

"can't touch this!" mmmm yeah whatever you just confused iPhone and iPod, shut up...
Touching became fun, and legal, with this version of the famous mp3 player. Through all the patent stealing and bullshit trash talking about Apple stealing this idea from someone else (crybaby's) and making it better so we can enjoy it as much as we do (Thanks Steve!), this is the greatest iPod ever! Except it still doesn't have a camera! But we should know its part of a grater plan.

It's thinner than the iPhone, so this means it has no room for the camera. "But the Nano has one, why not put that in the Touch?" because, illiterate dumb little person, its a tiny-thin-cheap-low resolution VGA camera, thus translate into "it sucks!" so if you buy a high end product, you'd expect something better, not Canon DSLR better but point-and-shoot better, and once again, there is no space, and the price would go up.

Talking about prices. The New Prices are 8GB $199, 32GB $299 and 64GB $399. "WAIT! You forgot the 16GB!!" I wont even answer to that comment... The 8GB is the OLD one, just being made at a lower price, but you wont have the faster processor of the newer ones.

And the most obvious reason is that you wouldn't want to eat up your own products. Adding a camera to the Touch will make the Big Brother (iPhone) lose the advantage it has. Apple may be protecting the iPhone's market.

Slim and price drop are now OFFICIAL!

As if K-Mart's front page ad wasn't enough to confirm, Sony's officially announced their PlayStation 3 Slim that retails for $100 less than the current PlayStation 3 fat, which is also getting a price cut.

The slim will come with a 120GB drive, and will be 32% smaller and 36% lighter than the standard PlayStation 3, as well as using 34% less power. The $300 price will apply to all PS3's effective tomorrow (August 19). The Slim will be available everywhere by the first week of September.

Here are some more details. The 80GB PS3 (current model) will be discounted, whereas the 160GB PS3 will be $400. There will be a new PS3 logo as well as modifications to the official name from PLAYSTATION 3 to PlayStation 3, because the old one was just plain rude, shouting all the time.

It'll also have a BRAVIA Sync feature that'll allow you to control the PS3's XMB with your Sony TV remote as long as they're connected via HDMI. And the TV will automatically turn off the PS3 when the TV goes off.

Sony also says that they're eliminating the feature of installing other operating systems on the Slim, so no more Linux.

Oh, and there will only be two USB ports.

Windows 7 updating is confusing...

Not sure how this whole Windows 7 upgrade thing will work for you? Well, this official Microsoft chart probably won't help either.

Many of the upgrade paths here are illogical and unlikely, but to simplify things a bit, if your upgrade path falls in a green box, congratulations - your upgrade process will be easier and will preserve your current files, settings and programs. If you fall in the sea of blue there, that means you will have to perform a "Custom Install" which falls somewhere in between an upgrade and a fresh install. K-Mart Confirms It!! PS3 price and size cut!

While we're waiting for Sony to announce a cheaper, slimmer PS3 in their press conference later today, K-Mart has this announcement on their front page...now. It looks like we get a new model and price drops on old PS3s.

K-Mart now has a pre-order page up as well for a $299 Slim. Either they're the biggest screw-ups in retailer history, or Sony doesn't mind (and has even encouraged) the info leaks.

Unicorns, Apple's Macbook Tablet and PS3 Slim have one thing in common, they are rumors, aren't they? I don't know about the first two but the Slim is looking more real as time goes by. Let's review the evidence:

• The 80 GB PS3 is being discontinued in Japan by the manufacturer's request. Meanwhile, price cuts on various bundles are happening all around the world. HMM.

• Digitimes reports "Sony is seriously increasingly buying 'key PS3 components', enough to build a 1,000,000 (million btw) consoles over the next 3 months. Why make this amount of consoles if the actual PS3 is not selling as much as it should. HMMM.

• Amazon Germany lists a PS3 "Konsole Slim." HMMMM.

I wonder...

Halo Legends

Games have always been taken into movies and series, either live action or anime. Devil May Cry, Tekken, Street Fighter, Fatal Fury, Final Fantasy and so on. Now Toei Animation, along with The BONES, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio 4°C, will bring to the list Halo Legends, an anthology of seven short films based on the Halo game franchise by Microsoft Studios.

Microsoft's creative staff is approving the visuals and storytelling. Three of the creative directors are Frank O'Connor of Microsoft's 343 Industries, Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed), and Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, The Sky Crawlers).

Aramaki's short will cover the history of the Spartan warrior class from the games. Studio 4°C will animate two 30-minute shorts about "the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe." Toei's short "is outside of the official canon and pokes fun at some of the game's characters."

Warner Brothers will release the anthology on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and digital in early 2010.

The trailer (this next video) was shown this past Thursday at the San Diego Comic Con.

We all know Google, and some off us know of the existence of Bing, the search engine Microsoft created to battle the gigantic nemesis Google. So the question is, which one is better? Now you can find out for yourself! Google vs Bin @ www.bing-vs-google.com shows both sites results side-by-side in real-time.

Bing has a few features on it's side taskbar to display related searches and has a search history feature. But can it compete with the champion, whose name has become a standard for web search. Time will tell.

In the meantime, give Bing-vs-Google.com a try, which one do you prefer and why?

It's War!! Send More Megapixels!!!

I was reading on a photography website an article titled, "Why Moore's Law does not apply to Digital Photography". There is a lot of great info in it, but one point talked about the limit when it comes to megapixels. I know this might sound old, and some people already know this, but most of them still believe that more megapixels make a better 4"x6"print out.

We have the main brand's like Sony, Nikon and Canon showing of to see who has the biggest sensor... camera sensor, which means more megapixels. But the sensor isn't the problem. It's the Glass, that thing that forms the lens and make the light go through and captures your family photos. Ray Maxwell points out that lenses will reach their limit and simply adding more pixels to the sensor won't result in higher quality photos.
So while laptop and desktop computers do obey Moore's Lay, camera glass lenses don't. Maxwell says "If someone produces a 35mm full frame camera with 100 Megapixels, beware. Given the limitations of the wavelength of light, no lens can live up to that resolution".

This brings us to what is being done today in this area. More features are being added instead of megapixels. HD video, wider wide-angle lenses and wireless to name a few. LCD touch screen just like the iPhones would be a great addition to the feaures, especially in the point-and-shoot department. Apps anyone? How about a Ponarama Mode that automatically crops your pics on the fly and puts them together in just a couple of seconds.

Microsoft Releases Office 2010

Today, Monday 13, computer giant Microsoft released an invitation only preview of Office 2010.

"RSVP only" means mortals like me and you, who are not part of the WorldWide Partner Conference nor are we assisting to the TechEd Show, will not get a peek of this new version... or will we? There is a Technical Preview that can be found in the wild. Search and you shall find...

Also, Microsoft won't show the biggest change made on Office, the browser based version of Excel, PoserPoint, Word and OneNote. Well played Microsoft, this way we will be able to work on documents in any computer that has access to the web! YEAH!! Oh, wait... Google Docs anyone? I think someones development team is using too much CopyPaste.
The browser version will work with Safari, Firefox and IE, as does Google Docs.

Anyway... the desktop beta version is expected to be released by the end of this year and will be found in a 32 and 64 bit version.

The software included will be Excel, Infopath Designer and Editor, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, SharePoint and the well known Word. They will come in 4 versions : (1)Home and Student, (2)Home and Business, (3)Professional Standard and (3) Professional Plus.

Google Chome OS!

Yes, it's true... Google announced yesterday Google Chrome OS, based on the web browser of the same name. There's no official download release date, but we can expect it somewhere around the second half of 2010.

Google posted on their Official Blog some of the features :

"We're designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work."

Could this be the OS that brings Windows down? or any other OS for that matter? I really doubt it. Apple's OS does a lot of great things and has great features that Microsoft's OS doesn't, and still it only has around 5% market share. Maybe next time or next OS...

Yes, that is where my MacBook Pro is at this moment. It got sick, poor thing.

Apparently someone in NVIDIA made an Oopsy! because their graphic card, GeForce 8600 GT, malfunctions in some MacBook Pro models made between May 2007 and September 2008. But they aknowledged it publicly and the good news is that if it fails within 3 years of its original purchase, you get it repaired without any charge, even if you dont have Apple Care.

China owns iPhone!

Yes, we know they have a lot of copy and replicas there, and this is no exception. A local company by the name Hanwang Technology Co. owns the trademark of "i-phone".

Appla is planning on introducing the God Phone in China next year and has already made an agreement with Chin Unicom, the telecommunications company, but hasn't talked to Hanwang. Apple registered the iPhone in the hardware and software category en 2002, but the chineese company owns the phone category.

By law Apple cannot sell the iPhone unless they get the trademark from Hanwang, or they come up with a deal.

PS3 Slim

I believe everyone saw this coming, I mean PS2 went on a diet, why not PS3, right?

Companies that sound just like two new team members of the Transformers family, Foxconn and Pegatron, are already working on this new slim model and say that will have the system ready for shipping at the end of the month.

Also, there are rumors of a price cut all around the gaming industry, and this sounds obvious, new systems, new hardware, new price. Also the 80GB version is saying bye-bye and it's big brother, the 160GB PS3, will become a standard. There is no proof yet about the price cut, but history tells us that there is a posibility of going down $100 USD per system.

In other news, Microsoft is releasing a new version of its Xbox 360 called "Pro". It's hard to come up with new names, isn't it... anyways, the Elite gets a price cut and both these systems will be sold at the same price.

Sony considering "PSP Phone"

According to the Nikkei Business Daily, Sony is, at this moment, considering developing a PSP phone, a cellphone/gamegear hybrid, in an effort to compete with the popular iPhone.

The Japanese electronics and entertainment giant launched its first Walkman 30 years ago, dominating the portable music player market, but it has been running far behind the iPod and iPhone in recent years.

Sony plans to get a project team together in July to develop the new product, which will "combine functions of its portable game player (the PSP) and Sony Ericsson's mobile phones," reads the report.

Although Sony did not want to comment on this, the move would make sense and has been oft rumored for years.

Game developers such as Capcom and Square-Enix have been offering games for the iPhone and iPod Touch, taking advantage of the strong market share for Apple products while at the same time taking away revenue from the traditional handheld gaming devices, PSP and Nintendo's DS/DSi.

Pirate Bay launches Video Bay

So it goes a little something like this. 2 or so years ago YouTube got its ass handed out to them because of copyrighted videos being posted on the site, and thus they began to remove this, so Pirate Bay (thepiratebay.org) said that they were working on a video site just like Google's, but that the content wouldn't be taken down.

So, hard work, sweat, and but load of beer and collaboration, The Video Bay was launched into existence... in beta form. And I quote from the homepage "This site will be an experimental playground and as such subjected to both live and drunk (en)coding, so please don't bug us too much if the site ain't working properly."

What does this do? Well, users will be able to upload copyrighted content without any problems or fear of it ever going down. What's next? The big players need to step it up a notch (a big one) and have more features and stuff for the users to be able to compete with The Video Bay.

One Million iPhone 3GS Sold

Apple has announced that it has sold more than one million iPhone 3GS through June 21, three days after its initial launch. Let's see you do that Palm Pre. FYI, it took 6 months to the T-Mobile G1 to sell 1 Million units. 6 MONTHS!? And lets not talk about the BlackBerry Bold.

In the same three days, six million iPhone users have upgraded to OS 3.0.

Quicktime now changes it's face. New logo coming up. The color scheme looks a lot like the one for Leopard OS X. How coincidental, don't you think?

Woz cut's in line @ Apple Store

Apparently, if you are the most admired person in the history of computing, you can go to your nearest Apple Store and cut through iPhone 3G S waiting lines like a lightsaber cuts through butter. The Woz did that yesterday, according to a witness:

"I just got my iPhone this morning at the Apple Store in Valley Fair (San Jose, CA) and Steve Wozniak was there.
I arrived at 3:50am and Mr. Woz was there talking to the manager at the Apple Store. Then around 4:30am he politely asked everyone in line if he could be the 1st to get his iPhone at the store and everyone said yes."

So, you are one of the top people at the company and you can even get your own iPhone 3G S? That's saying something.

But anyways... I would have let him go first too...

Do you remember all those things they say about hair drying and showering at the same time? That gigantic warning on the side of the dryer? Some people just don't get it.

A teenage girl was electrocuted after dropping her laptop into the bath as she twittered in the tub.
Police said they believed Maria Barbu, 17, had tried to plug in her laptop with wet hands after the battery died during a long session on social networking site Twitter as she took a bath at her home in Romania.
She was found dead by her parents with the laptop lying next to her.

Steve Jobs Recovering From a Liver Transplant, Still Returning End of Month

The GOD of all Apple consumers, real Apple consumers, is back! The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports that he had a liver transplant two months ago and is expected to return to work later this month, maybe not full time but he'll be back.

And it's at this point, without any information to back that thing up, it says that Jobs cancer had spread to his liver, just a comment from a doctor, William Hawkins, that "most patients are going to have this disease spread over the course of their lives". But he did not say, specifically, liver. Maybe he was a heavy drinker, that could explain all his calmness in the keynote presentations. (just kidding Steve, I'm a fan)

The WSJ also posted that getting a liver transplant to treat the kind of tumor that Jobs has is "controversial because they are scarce and the surgery's efficacy as a cure hasn't been proved". But this has no background. All I know is that the WSJ is saying Jobs got a transplant. PERIOD.

While he was absent, he still remained involved in all of Apple's key aspects and product plans from home. He has also been seen at Apple's headquarters, according to people who have seen him there.

Regardless of his health, when Steve Jobs gets back to work, I think everyone should welcome him back.

P.S. yes I do read some parts of the WSJ.
